“Bangladesh’s Interim Government Recalls Ambassadors of Seven Countries: Strategic Realignment or Diplomatic Disruption?”
The interim government of Bangladesh has taken a significant step by deciding to recall ambassadors from six countries, along with the high commissioner to the Maldives, who was on deputation.
According to a report in Prothom Alo, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen stated that the decision to terminate these contractual appointments was made during a recent advisory council meeting. As a result, six ambassadors are being asked to return, including those from the United States, Russia, Japan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, a report published by News18 also mentioned that several staff members from the Bangladesh High Commission have been recalled.
